Question 1

How does the FYI Mail Tester work?

Accepted Answer

Mail Tester generates a unique temporary inbox address on dnsfyi.pro. When you send an email to this address, our SMTP server receives it, evaluates SPF, DKIM cryptographic signatures, DMARC alignment, scans the sending IP against 43+ DNSBL blacklists, and evaluates content with SpamAssassin to calculate an overall deliverability score out of 10.

Question 2

Why do my emails score poorly or land in spam?

Accepted Answer

Common causes include missing or misconfigured SPF records, broken DKIM cryptographic keys, missing DMARC policies, sending IP addresses listed on spam blacklists (DNSBL), or SpamAssassin triggers such as missing Message-ID headers, excessive uppercase words, or spam-like HTML markup.

Question 3

Does Mail Tester meet Google and Yahoo's 2024 sender requirements?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Google and Yahoo mandate SPF and DKIM authentication, DMARC policy publication, and low spam rates for bulk senders. Mail Tester audits each of these mandatory pillars and gives you clear, step-by-step instructions to achieve full compliance.

Question 4

How long are test inboxes and email reports kept?

Accepted Answer

Test inboxes and reports are strictly ephemeral. Received messages and diagnostic reports are automatically purged from memory after 10 minutes to protect your privacy.
